EVNCPC: 14 tons of rice donated to the people affected by Covid-19 pandemic in Da Nang city
On April 23rd, 2020, Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) donated 14 tons of rice to poor and disadvantaged households due to the impact of Covid -19 pandemic in 7 wards and districts in Da Nang city.
EVNCPC leaders donated 2 tons of rice in Lien Chieu district
The sponsor representatives of EVNCPC were Mr. Ngo Tan Cu – General Director, Mr. Tran Dinh Ha – Vice President of Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom – Secretary of EVNCPC Youth Union and Directors of related departments. This is an activity assigned by EVNCPC to the Youth Union of EVNCPC in coordination with the local Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The donation program worth more than VND 200 million, which is deducted from the Social Assistance Fund contributed by employees for the poor and disadvantaged households who facing difficulties due to the pandemic impact in 6 districts: Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu, Cam Le, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son and Hoa Vang, each district was donated 2 tons of rice.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Tan Cu - General Director of EVNCPC expressed: “With the mission of producing and trading electricity in 13 provinces and cities in the Central region - Central Highlands, EVNCPC is always a transparent enterprise in business production, customer friendly, responsible to the social community. With this motto, in 2019, EVNCPC has spent VND 12 billion to implement social security in the area. This year, with the situation of Covid – 19 pandemic, in response to the call of Vietnam Fatherland Front - “All people participate in the prevention and control of Covid -19”, EVNCPC has extracted from the enterprise’s fundings and mobilized employees to contribute and donated more than VND 2 billion to localities and organizations. Particularly, the donation of 14 tons of rice to these localities, 2 tons of rice for each place, helped people to overcome the pandemic impact and stabilized their lives”.

Representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in districts and cities expressed the appreciation for the cooperation and contribution of EVNCPC and other business organizations, units and sponsors in the area to help people overcome difficulties due to the prolonged epidemic situation.
At the ceremony in Hoa Vang district, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee said: “The donation of 2 tons of rice today to 200 households in the communes from EVNCPC’s employees is very timely and meaningful. “A stitch in time saves nine”, that is the kindness of the enterprise for the people in need. On behalf of the people, I would like to express my most sincere thanks to EVNCPC's employees for contributing to help the disadvantaged people in the area. "
In Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts, the leaders of EVNCPC handed out 10kg of rice to each household. In Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son districts, the local representatives reserved this amount of rice to give to households at the “rice ATM” in the district.
