Binh Dinh Power Company: to develop a plan ensuring power supply to important power customers in the province in 2020
On February 18th, 2020, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee issued the Decision 476/QD-UBND regarding the approval of list of 283 important power customers in Binh Dinh province in 2020.
BDPC’s workers performs inspection and maintenance of substations to ensure reliable and continuous power supply
The approved 283 important power customers, including Party Committee bureaus, Authority Offices, People’s Assembly, Police, Military, Hospital, Telecommunication, Post Office, Radio-Television station, traffic light control boxes for road and rail, domestic water supply system and some other important agencies/organizations within the province, will not be subject to power limitation when there is a power shortage in the national power system, increasing by 27 customers as opposed to the 2019 list. It is generally estimated that in 2020, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) will encounter many difficulties in supplying power due to increasing demand. With the target GDP of Vietnam economy at 6.8%, EVN foresees that the total power generation and power sales in 2020 is 265.4 billion kWh, rising by 9.1% as opposed to that 2019. While the 2020 supplemental power sources are not considerable, primarily from renewable energy sources with few operational hours. Hydropower plants’ reservoirs have not accumulated enough of water to reach to normal water level since the end of 2019 and the amount of water influx into reservoirs during the first half of the year is forecasted to be less than previous years; hence, it is difficult to supply power during dry season of 2020. EVNCPC needs cooperation of local authorities in promoting, encouraging power saving among customers; in disseminating, cooperating with customers with large capacity in order to proceed with demand response process when power backup of the power system is low, ensuring safe, reliable and stable operation. Based on the list of important power customers approved by Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, Binh Dinh Power Company shall develop a plan for power supply according to power consumption and the allocated capacity in case the national power system faces with power shortage in 2020, ensuring power supply to the approved list. In case such power shutdown or reduction must be made when there is power shortage, grid fault or overload, Binh Dinh Power Company shall proceed with necessary procedures in accordance with Circular 30/2013/TT-BCT issued by Ministry of Industry and Trade dated 14th November 2013.
