CPCEMEC: gradually enlarge the market of Smart Remote Fault Indicator (SRFI)

With nearly 1,500 equipment having been installed at 11 power companies (PC) of EVNCPC in 2019, the smart remote fault indicators (SRFI) for medium-voltage grid have proved effective in gird management and operation. With such result, CPCEMEC was confident to introduce SRFI to Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) and to cooperate with EVNSPC in pilot project for installation of the equipment onto 22kV grid of Long An PC at the beginning of 2020.

Recently, CPCEMEC cooperated with Long An PC, a member of EVNSPC, in holding a seminar of SRFI introduction with attendance of representatives from functional divisions, departments of EVNSPC, from Long An PC and from Tan An Power Branch. Delivering the opening speech at the seminar, Mr Thai Thanh Nam – Deputy Manager of CPCEMEC introduced the equipment, mentioned advantages as well as accuracy of SRFI which had been installed; sent his warm thank to EVNSPC’s and Long An PC’s leader boards for making this cooperation possible. Apart from advanced introduction of SRFI functions, configuration, installation and FDC (Fault Detection System) introduction and operation, CPCEMEC performed visual demonstration of SRFI fault indication and warning when there are faults in the power grid and provided detailed explanation, responses regarding the equipment’s operation.

In addition to that, CPCEMEC received comments and gained actual experiences in grid operation from EVNSPC and its subsidiaries. With these comments and experiences, CPCEMEC will improve and develop the equipment so that it can be more suitable for medium grid in EVN, meeting customers’ increasing demand.

At the seminar, all parties agreed with the plan for pilot implementation and installation of SRFI at 04 positions under 471, 474 feeder of Tan An Power Branch – Long An Power Company. Initial messages, transmitting to FDS server located at Load Dispatch Room of Long An PC, mark the first successful step of fault indication and warning.

After 2 working days, CPCEMEC handed technical documents, software and necessary components for connection over to Long An PC and both parties agreed with cooperation procedure during implementation of the pilot project. Introduction and pilot installation of SRFI onto Long An PC’s power grid is a canny move for CPCEMEC to bring its key products to the Southern potential market.
